The  Jennie Wade Riverboat
Now located at Chilo Lock #34 Park , U.S. Route 52
Bringing the stories of Ohio River communities to our  visitors , the Jennie Wade Media Center  connects participating  communities through media presentations, visual displays and on board activities available for young and old alike.

Teachers, contact the "Friends" for available lesson plans to use at the facility. Teacher members can use the facility "Free of Charge."

Our first production manager, Robert Roe, created a video  highlighting the region and the story of the restoration. It was  featured during the 2004 season and  continues to be  part of the center's media programs available to visitors and members.   The video promote the Ohio River Valley. We continue to add new programs that feature the history of these river communities. Some of these include the Lorentz production, "River Voices" a documentary about the 1937 flood, Phil Wenlocks' wonderful visual about the Portsmouth Flood wall murals,  the WCET production of "Safe Passage" and our latest,
"Men of the River", the story of a forgotten riverboat Captain buried in Neville. . The center is planning displays and information about the ship building history of this region.
Over 10,000 visitors have toured the media center and left  with a renewed interest and pride in the many wonderful resources of the region.

Now, in our new permanet location, Chilo Lock #34, the facility will serve many more area residents and visitors for years to come.

Pictured above is the historic gathering  held at the  Open House of the 1830's home  of a pioneer riverman. The Friends of Jennie Wade helped celebrate the Neville Bicentennial by uncovering the story and the original 1830' s home of the riverboat Captain John McClain 1798 -1854. Seen here  are the present owners of the home, a representative of the Clermont County Historical Society,  the president and a loyal member of the Friends, and the great, great, great, great granddaughters of the Captain. All helped to gather the information recorded in the Neville Bicentennial book . Rediscovering these stories is part of the mission of the  Friends of Jennie Wade.
